It’s Sunday and the sun is shining - and so what better time for a quick update on all things LAB Recs, in the form of a numbered list…
1. Perhaps most excitingly, this week we officially announced the details of the first ever LAB Records Summer Tour which features MiMi Soya, The Auteur and Lost On Campus, and takes place between 20-30 June. I am perhaps as (if not more!) excited about this as anything we’ve done with the label so far so check out the MySpace for full info.
2. Unless you’ve been completely ignoring our prolific advertising campaign, (guffaw) you’ll know that our next release is MiMi Soya’s ‘The Four Penny Knee Trembler’ EP. It kind of sounds like what’d happen if you mixed Paramore with Four Year Strong, and I’ve had it for a good while now and I’m still giving it a spin - if only to check it still sounds ace. It does! 3. We definately have new signings and releases on the way – sometimes these things just take a little while, for various reasons! Rob (Lost On Campus) is in the process of thinking about and writing new material, which is also very much the case for the My Actions Your Exit boys. Look out for them on tour with Me Vs Hero and Clarkson in July. Dates on their MySpace.
4. Finally, in the past fortnight we’ve made a few changes to our official website over at www.labrecords.co.uk. In time, there will be a full label site at that address, but for now there is a lovely looking holding page from which you can visit all of our various sites – MySpace, LastFM, YouTube and of course this blog.
